Singapore JC - Yishun Junior College

Yishun Junior College or YJC is a value-added college as it has received the value-added silver award for 2005. It is also one of the top-ten VALUE-ADDED junior colleges in 2005 and 2006. Unlike other junior colleges in Singapore which offer fixed subject combinations, YJC offers students the option to read the subjects that they excel in and are interested in; that is to say, there is tremendous flexibility given to students in their choice of ‘Advance’ level subjects. This practice stems from the belief that students should take ownership of their own education; it is thus fundamental that they must choose the subjects that they want to major in.
